‘Castle of Dreams’ to attend Zurich Iranian fest

Iran Film Festival in Zurich is to screen ‘Castle of Dreams’.

Iranian Film Festival in Zurich in Switzerland (IFFZ) has scheduled to screen the award-winning feature ‘Castle of Dreams’.

Reza Mirkarimi’s film will be in competition at the Feature Film Competition section of the sixth edition of the Swiss event which will take place by the end of May, 2020.

“Jalal Moradi, a 42-year-old father of two, kills a family in an accident. In the court of law, the murder is recognized as accidental killing without intent. After doing his time and getting out of prison, he leaves his wife and kids and moves to another city. Two years later, he must go back to his home town as his wife is brain-dead”, reads a brief synopsis of the flick.

The starring role of the feature has been portrayed by popular ifilm actor of ‘The Orange Suit’, Hamed Behdad.

Besides Behdad, Mohammad Asgari, Zhila Shahi, Akbar Ayeen, Azadeh Nobahar, Mohammad Ashkanfar, Youna Tadayyon, and Niyousha Alipour portray roles in the movie.

The Batumi International Art-House Film Festival in Georgia, the Slemani International Film Festival in Iraq and International Film Award “East-West. Golden Arch” in Russia are some of the film events that have already awarded ‘Castle of Dreams’.

The IFFZ aims to fill the cultural gap between Iranians and Swiss as well as the many foreigners living in Switzerland.

The event defines itself as “A Platform for presenting the Iranian culture and tradition and for building a bridge between different cultures by the means of the universal language of art and especially the 7th art, cinema”.

This year’s edition of the festival will go online due to COVID-19 pandemic, to be held on May 28-June 03, 2020.
